What do I need in order to start my website?
You will need to purchase your domain name (www.yoursite.com), as well as a hosting plan. If you will be selling items from your website, I recommend taking a look at my recommended e-commerce hosts.
Do I need to be available during the design process?
Definitely. I will be emailing lots of information as well as design elements for you to proof during the design process, and it is critical that you check your email often to keep the design process on schedule.
Do you only communicate via email?
My primary mode of communication is via email; however, once the design process begins, we may occasionally communicate on Skype instant messenger as well.
Can I change my project start date?
In order for me to stay on schedule, it is important to stick to the original start date. If you are absolutely unable to keep the original start date, you will be offered the next available start date at the bottom of the design queue.
Do you offer support?
Of course! For custom designs, I offer support for two days following the installation of the new design for clients to ask any questions or discuss any issues. For pre-made templates, I offer one hour worth of support to answer any questions and address any concerns.
What is a fav icon?
A favicon is the the small icon that appears to the left of the url in the top of your browser.
Do you create custom characters/illustrations/cartoons for my blog or website?
Unfortunately, I do not design custom character illustrations. However, you can purchase one from istock photo for me to include in your design (the purchase of these is not included in your design quote). Depending on the illustration, I may be able to slightly modify it to meet your design needs (change hair/eye color, etc).
Can I change the colors or fonts in a design template?
Yes! You can purchase this as an add on when you buy the template. When you purchase this option, one design proof is also included, so you will get the opportunity to make small changes if needed. It is very helpful if you know the exact colors you’d like used, or the name of the font.
Can I use any font on my site?
Not all fonts can be used for content text on your website, but there are a lot that can. If you know of a specific font you’d like, please contact me to see if it can be used prior to purchasing.
Can I use the logo I already have in a template?
Yes, most logos will work just fine in one of the pre-made templates, as long as they have a transparent background. If you are unsure, just contact me and include an image of your logo and I’ll let you know if it will work.
